Union Pacific's most recent trend suggests a bearish bias. One trading opportunity on Union Pacific is a Bear Call Spread using a strike $144.00 short call and a strike $149.00 long call offers a potential 58.73% return on risk over the next 17 calendar days. Maximum profit would be generated if the Bear Call Spread were to expire worthless, which would occur if the stock were below $144.00 by expiration. The full premium credit of $1.85 would be kept by the premium seller. The risk of $3.15 would be incurred if the stock rose above the $149.00 long call strike price.
The 5-day moving average is moving down which suggests that the short-term momentum for Union Pacific is bearish and the probability of a decline in share price is higher if the stock starts trending.
The 20-day moving average is moving down which suggests that the medium-term momentum for Union Pacific is bearish.
The RSI indicator is below 20 which suggests that the stock is in oversold territory.

Fri, 26 Oct 2018 16:11:18 +0000
UP CEO Lance Fritz said the railroad already is implementing precision railroading principles in its Mid-American corridor, under a plan dubbed Unified Plan 2020, which is mostly the eastern half of the railroad's system. UP executive vice president Tom Lischer said UP is implementing precision railroading principles “in a manner that fits our network.” The company's focus will be shifting from an emphasis on moving trains to moving cars. Lischer spoke of one customer where there have been changes in building “blocks” of rail cars, and the result has been to significantly reduce freight car dwell time.
[$$] Union Pacific Defends Slow-and-Steady Turnaround Plan
Thu, 25 Oct 2018 23:51:37 +0000
Union Pacific Corp. executives defended the phased rollout of the railroad’s turnaround plan, saying they are seeking to avoid disruptions that marked similar overhauls at some of its rivals. The railroad this month began implementing its version of precision-scheduled railroading, an operating strategy pioneered by deceased railroad executive Hunter Harrison, on the eastern portion of a network that spans the Western U.S. Analysts have said that a slower introduction indicates that Union Pacific isn’t fully committed to the changes necessary to improve results. “I can assure you that is not the case,” said Tom Lischer, Union Pacific executive vice president of operations.
