PepsiCo Inc. said Wednesday that it has launched a new sparkling water beverage, Soulboost, that has an extra kick from juice and “functional” ingredients. Soulboost Lift includes panax ginseng, which is believed to benefit mental stamina, and Soulboost Ease has L-theanine to promote relaxation. Each version of the beverage comes in two flavors, including black cherry citrus and blackberry passionfruit. PepsiCo quotes data showing that the enhanced water market will reach $11.3 billion by 2027. PepsiCo stock has slipped 3% for the year to date while the S&P 500 index is up 10.9% for the period.
