Reuters – Anchorwoman Katie Couric, who has hosted high-profile programs on all three major U.S. television networks, will head a team of global correspondents and help shape news coverage at Yahoo Inc., the Internet company announced on Monday. Couric will join Yahoo next year as global anchor while continuing to host her talk show on the ABC television network. Yahoo Chief Executive Marissa Mayer had been wooing Couric for its growing news programming, according to media reports. Yahoo did not provide specifics about the planned format of its news programming.
