Monsanto's most recent trend suggests a bearish bias. One trading opportunity on Monsanto is a Bear Call Spread using a strike $116.00 short call and a strike $121.00 long call offers a potential 15.47% return on risk over the next 17 calendar days. Maximum profit would be generated if the Bear Call Spread were to expire worthless, which would occur if the stock were below $116.00 by expiration. The full premium credit of $0.67 would be kept by the premium seller. The risk of $4.33 would be incurred if the stock rose above the $121.00 long call strike price.
The 5-day moving average is moving down which suggests that the short-term momentum for Monsanto is bearish and the probability of a decline in share price is higher if the stock starts trending.
The 20-day moving average is moving down which suggests that the medium-term momentum for Monsanto is bearish.
The RSI indicator is below 20 which suggests that the stock is in oversold territory.

Reuters – U.S. food companies spent almost as much lobbying Congress in the first quarter of 2014 as they did in the full year in 2013, a sign the industry may have intensified its fight against state labeling requirements for genetically engineered foods, according to a report released Tuesday. The Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA), along with companies such as PepsiCo Inc and Coca-Cola Co contributed to the $9 million in spending related to such lobbying efforts in the first quarter of 2014, according to an Environmental Working Group (EWG) report. The group analyzed lobbying disclosure forms that cited labeling of foods containing genetically modified organisms (GMOs), as well as other policy issues.
