Valero's most recent trend suggests a bullish bias. One trading opportunity on Valero is a Bull Put Spread using a strike $49.50 short put and a strike $44.50 long put offers a potential 14.42% return on risk over the next 15 calendar days. Maximum profit would be generated if the Bull Put Spread were to expire worthless, which would occur if the stock were above $49.50 by expiration. The full premium credit of $0.63 would be kept by the premium seller. The risk of $4.37 would be incurred if the stock dropped below the $44.50 long put strike price.

The 20-day moving average is moving up which suggests that the medium-term momentum for Valero is bullish.
The RSI indicator is at 53.94 level which suggests that the stock is neither overbought nor oversold at this time.

Biofuel groups press White House on more than just 2014 targets
Wed, 30 Jul 2014 20:52:21 GMT
Reuters – The U.S. biofuel industry is urging the Obama administration to go beyond simply raising proposed targets for use of the fuels, making the case instead for fundamental changes to the government's approach to the renewable fuel program. There has been a flurry of meetings between biofuel backers and White House officials in advance of the release of the long-delayed targets for the use of renewable fuels this year, which are expected to reach the Office of Management and Budget for review within weeks. The targets for this year have been plagued by repeated delays amid outcry from biofuel producers, such as Abengoa Bioenergy, Green Plains Inc and Pacific Ethanol Inc, who say a draft plan slashing the 2014 standards could significantly harm the industry. Biofuel industry sources said in May the Environmental Protection Agency would likely raise proposed levels.
