Verizon's most recent trend suggests a bearish bias. One trading opportunity on Verizon is a Bear Call Spread using a strike $49.00 short call and a strike $54.00 long call offers a potential 7.07% return on risk over the next 9 calendar days. Maximum profit would be generated if the Bear Call Spread were to expire worthless, which would occur if the stock were below $49.00 by expiration. The full premium credit of $0.33 would be kept by the premium seller. The risk of $4.67 would be incurred if the stock rose above the $54.00 long call strike price.
The 5-day moving average is moving down which suggests that the short-term momentum for Verizon is bearish and the probability of a decline in share price is higher if the stock starts trending.
The 20-day moving average is moving down which suggests that the medium-term momentum for Verizon is bearish.
The RSI indicator is at 31.05 level which suggests that the stock is neither overbought nor oversold at this time.

Reuters – The European Central Bank (ECB) has no plans to end its business relations with U.S. telecoms firm Verizon Communications Inc (VZ.N), ECB President Mario Draghi said in response to a query from a member of the European parliament on Thursday. The German government said in June it had cancelled a contract with Verizon as part of an overhaul of its internal communications, prompted by revelations last year of U.S. government spying. In the letter to Fabio De Masi, Draghi wrote that the ECB “takes the threat of economic espionage very seriously”. He said the ECB has two arrangements with Verizon: a framework agreement on the provision of certain internet-related services, and a contract related to the provision of certain business continuity services.
