Western Digital's most recent trend suggests a bullish bias. One trading opportunity on Western Digital is a Bull Put Spread using a strike $105.00 short put and a strike $100.00 long put offers a potential 20.48% return on risk over the next 8 calendar days. Maximum profit would be generated if the Bull Put Spread were to expire worthless, which would occur if the stock were above $105.00 by expiration. The full premium credit of $0.85 would be kept by the premium seller. The risk of $4.15 would be incurred if the stock dropped below the $100.00 long put strike price.
The 5-day moving average is moving up which suggests that the short-term momentum for Western Digital is bullish and the probability of a rise in share price is higher if the stock starts trending.
The 20-day moving average is moving up which suggests that the medium-term momentum for Western Digital is bullish.
The RSI indicator is at 51.41 level which suggests that the stock is neither overbought nor oversold at this time.

PCs: Bitter January Taiwan ODM Data Suggest Breakdown, Say Rosenblatt, Brean

Barrons.com – The Street continues to try to figure out what will happen with the personal computer given data out this week for sales by various Asia supply chain manufacturers such as Quanta and Compal. On the negative side of things, Rosenblatt Securities’s Jun Zhang today writes that a big fall in shipments by “original device manufacturers” such as Quanta of more than 20% does not bode well. Zhang thinks PC makers over-shipped in December, and that things are set to reset this quarter: PC shipments had over a 20% MoM drop in January and we expect PC shipments will drop 15-20% QoQ in Q1, which is below normal seasonality. We turned cautious on the PC supply chain in early November last year and consistently wrote that there was high inventory in the channel and sell-through was below what the channel expected.
